The film features quite the cast, and revolves around the group of firefighters called the Granite Mountain Hotshots who lost 19 men stopping Arizona’s Yarnell Hill wildfire in 2013.

Amongst the cast are Taylor Kitsch, Miles Teller, Josh Brolin, Jeff Bridges, and Jennifer Connelly. It will arrive in cinemas in the fall.

Kosinski talked up the project to GQ.

“I read an early draft of the script, and wildland firefighting was something I didn’t know anything about,” Kosinski told GQ. “You know, their job is so far away from civilization, in many cases. That was fascinating to me. And the approach of this story—taking it from two points of view simultaneously. There’s the guy at the very top: Eric Marsh [Josh Brolin], the superintendent of the Granite Mountain hotshots. And the guy at the bottom: Brendan McDonaugh [Miles Teller], who is just applying for the job. I thought that was a very interesting structure—and being a Midwest kid from a small town, I guess I related to the world of Prescott. It’s a fascinating story, and very different than anything I’ve done before.”

Only The Brave opens in cinemas Stateside on October 20th, 2017. The film, which is also being referred to as ‘Granite Mountain Hotshots’ in some territories and on the IMDB, will debut in the U.K. slightly earlier on September 22nd, 2017.
