A new image from the upcoming Jigsaw, the eighth film in the legendary multi-hundred-million-dollar horror Saw franchise has debuted through Entertainment Weekly. We’re being told that this new movie will be more fun and less hardcore gore than previous instalments, which we’re personally all for. The new image does show off a familiar setting though and potentially one of the title character’s many traps. Take a look at the new Jigsaw photo at the bottom of the post.

Jigsaw will be released in cinemas in the Uk on October 20th, 2017. Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig (the duo behind Predestination and Daybreakers) are directing from a script by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger. Amongst the cast are Mandela Van Peebles, Laura Vandervoort, Brittany Allen, Callum Keith Rennie, Clé Bennett, Matt Passmore, Hannah Emily Anderson, Paul Braunstein, Josiah Black, Shaquan Lewis, Michael Boisvert, and James Gómez. Series producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules are returning for the new movie.
“We’ve got some pretty wild traps in the film — we don’t shy away from the gore,” says Michael Spierig. “It’s such a perfect Halloween scare-fest. It’s perhaps not quite as vicious and more fun, which is something we tried to inject into it. But it’s still full of good fun gore, that’s for sure. And, on top of that, it’s got a really great mystery, and there are very interesting twists. It’s Saw for 2017.”
The new image will be in a special issue of Entertainment Weekly being handed out at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, which officially kicks off in southern California today.
