Anne Hathaway is the current favourite to take the role of Barbie in a new big-screen adventure. The Tracking Board reports that while no official offer has been made for Hathaway to take the role, but she is the producers’ top choice for the part.
The film is based on the classic toy doll which has been on toy shelves since 1959. The live-action film has been in the works over at Sony Pictures for quite some time. Amy Schumer was attached to the project for quite some time, but exited earlier this year due to scheduling conflicts.
Alethea Jones is also rumored to be directing the film while Hilary Winston (The LEGO Ninjago Movie), Schumer and Kim Caramele wrote the latest version of the script.
