Well, now that the whole ‘will Daniel Craig return to play Bond’ question is very much out of the way, thoughts are turning to who will follow the likes of Adele and Sam Smith to record the next 007 theme song. Well, the Daily Star in the UK has had some ‘inside information’ pointing towards the one and only Beyonce, who may be about to record the title track for the new movie. More on the new Bond theme song below.
New Bond theme song to be performed by Beyonce?
According to the tabloid, Beyonce has been talking to Skyfall performer Adele about the new movie and a source says: “The two spoke before Bey’s first meeting with film bosses and Adele told her how co-writing and performing a Bond theme gave her an amazing career hike.”
Whether there’s any truth in this hasn’t been confirmed by anyone close to the production or the musical camps of either artist, but Beyonce could be a good fit for the new film, the 25th in the prestigious series. Also, we’re not sure whether Beyonce’s career needs that much of a hike either.
The singer is also reportedly in talks to contribute to the soundtrack and potentially lend her voice to Disney’s live-action version of The Lion King, which is currently in-production in Los Angeles.
The next 007 adventure will release in cinemas in late 2019 (October in the UK, November Stateside) with Daniel Craig reprising the role of secret agent James Bond for the fifth time. Presently there is no director attached, but we’d expect the position to be filled pretty sharpish so that pre-production can begin for a shoot to kick off sometime next year.
The new Bond theme song official announcement is probably a little ways off yet, but we’ll keep you posted if anything changes.
