‘It’ Director To Helm Vampire Prequel ‘Dracul’

Deadline are reporting that It director Andy Muschietti is being lined up to direct Dracul, a vampire prequel authorised by the estate of Bram Stoker.

The trade blog reports that the script has been written by Dacre Stoker and J.D. Barker, with the story set in 1868, where a 21-year old Bram Stoker meets with an ungodly evil that he traps in an ancient tower all the while scribbling the events that led him there.

The project is set-up at Paramount Pictures, but don’t expect this to play in cinemas for at least a few years as Muschietti is to next film the second part of the It story for Warner Brothers. The first part, which is already drawing rave reviews, hits cinemas on Friday 8th September.
