Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Remake Gets A Summer 2018 Release Date
The Hollywood Reporter originally reported that Addison had officially signed on the dotted line to direct in March of this year, after having success helming episodes of Veep Stateside. His Nasty Women, which is written by Jac Schaeffer, is a new take on the 1988 comedy that starred Steve Martin and Michael Caine. Filming has been underway for a little while, and, according to a recent social post by Addison, has just about wrapped.
“Done, done, donedonedone. Well, a bit. On Friday we wrapped filming on the moofie we’ve been making after nine weeks of schlepping cameras and other relevant equipment around London and the Continent.”

The original Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which was actually released in the UK in the summer of 1989, was a huge success and has since spawned stage versions that have played out across the world.
Con artist Lawrence Jamieson (Michael Caine) is a longtime resident of a luxurious coastal resort, where he enjoys the fruits of his deceptions — that is, until a competitor, Freddy Benson (Steve Martin), shows up. When the new guy’s lowbrow tactics impinge on his own work, Jamieson resolves to get rid of him. Confident of his own duplicitous talents, Jamieson challenges Benson to a winner-takes-all competition: whoever swindles their latest mark first can stay, while the other must leave town.
The new version features two women from different walks of life teaming up to con a tech prodigy out of his money.
