More on the Death On The Nile film below.
New Death On The Nile film coming to screens
The film will be based on the 1937 novel of the same name. The plot is as follows.
The tranquillity of a cruise along the Nile is shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway has been shot through the head. She was young, stylish and beautiful, a girl who had everything – until she lost her life.
Hercule Poirot recalls an earlier outburst by a fellow passenger: ‘I’d like to put my dear little pistol against her head and just press the trigger.’ Yet in this exotic setting,’ nothing is ever quite what it seems…
The work, like Murder On The Orient Express, has previously been adapted into a film – a 1978 effort that saw Peter Ustinov as Poirot, backed by an all-star cast including Bette Davis, Mia Farrow, Maggie Smith, Angela Lansbury and David Niven. Expect the same star-studded treatment for the new version.
Murder On The Orient Express has, despite some mixed reviews, managed to take nearly $150 million around the world since its release earlier this month. It was produced for around $55 million.
There is no timescale for the adaptation as yet, but the project is in active development at the studio with Green actively putting pen to paper as we write this.
