The nominations for the 2017 Golden Globes awards have just been announced at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California by Kristen Bell, Sharon Stone, Alfre Woodard and Garrett Hedlund. The Golden Globe Awards are accolades bestowed by the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association beginning in January 1944, recognising excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign.
This year, Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water leads the charge with seven nominations, while the HBO drama Big Little Lies led the television nominees with six nods.
Christopher Plummer, who replaced Kevin Spacey in Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World, got a nomination for his performance in the film, just weeks after landing the part. Scott too, was named in the list for best director.
The Golden Globes will be dished out in a lavish ceremony in Beverly Hills on January 7th. Keep it THN for full coverage.
