It doesn’t hit the streaming service until today, but the word on the street is that Netflix has already given the green light to a sequel to Bright. Early reviews of the Will Smith and Joel Edgerton-led action sci-fi, which is directed by David Ayer, have been far from positive but that hasn’t stopped the powers that be from potentially ordering a follow-up.
Bloomberg has posted a report indicating that: “the company has already ordered a sequel with [Will] Smith signed on”.
Set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves, and fairies have been co-existing since the beginning of time. Bright is genre-bending action movie that follows two cops from very different backgrounds. Ward (Will Smith) and Jakoby (Joel Edgerton), embark on a routine patrol night and encounter a darkness that will ultimately alter the future and their world as they know it.
Bright is available on Netflix internationally from today.
