Jack Whitehall Joins Dwayne Johnson In ‘Jungle Cruise’ Movie

British comedian Jack Whitehall has joined Dwayne Johnson in Disney’s planned The Jungle Cruise movie. The film, which will roll into production this May, is based on their legendary Disneyland ride. Emily Blunt is also amongst the cast of the movie, and Whitehall will board the project to play her brother.

J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay wrote the original screenplay with Michael Logan following it up with a rewrite. Variety reports that Jaume Collet-Serra is set to direct the big-screen version of the classic theme park attraction, which takes guests on a guided tour through the rivers of the world.

As we said, shooting starts in May for a 2019 release. Johnson was last seen in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which grossed a whopping $1 billion worldwide, and next has the giant monster movie Rampage. Whitehall has been seen in the likes of Garry Marshall’s Mother’s Day, and also has the Netflix specials Jack Whitehall At Large and Travels With My Father. He will also be seen in Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms and Amazon’s Good Omens mini-series.
