After an impressive turn in last year’s Beach Rats, actor Harris Dickinson is set to play the prince in the upcoming Disney sequel Maleficent 2. Joachim Ronning is in the director’s seat for the planned movie, which will roll into production soon.
Variety reports that Dickinson will play the prince and love interest of Elle Fanning in the sequel, taking over the role played by Brenton Thwaites in the first pic. Thwaites isn’t reprising the role due to reported scheduling conflicts with his TV show Titans.
Dickinson was most recently seen in the event series Trust, and will next star in Fox’s Darkest Minds.
Jez Butterworth and Linda Woolverton wrote the most recent script for the film. Angelina Jolie will reprise her title role, which Michelle Pfeiffer is also reportedly in talks to join the project.
