‘Deadpool 2’ Took In $300 Million In Its Opening Weekend

It opened to largely positive reviews and it looks like it might have just struck a chord with audiences too. Of course. Deadpool 2 managed to bring in a huge $300 million around the world in its opening weekend, including a huge $125 million in the U.S. That number was slightly down on the opening of the first movie, which grossed $132 million a couple of years back.

The movie out-performed the first one elsewhere, easily taking it to the top-spot in multiple countries, knocking Avengers: Infinity War down from number one to number two. Deadpool 2 is now the highest-opening R-rated movie in the USA, and Fox International’s biggest opening of all time. That outstrips both X-Men: Days Of Future Past and Logan.

In the film, wisecracking mercenary Deadpool joins forces with three mutants — Bedlam, Shatterstar and Domino — to protect a boy from the all-powerful Cable.
