‘The Crow’ Remake Off Again – Director & Star Leave The Project

The remake of The Crow looks like it’s off again, just weeks before the film was due to start shooting over in Bulgaria. Deadline is reporting that both director Corin Hardy and star Jason Momoa have left the project over creative differences.

Momoa took to social media to confirm the news.

“I’ve waited 8 years to play this dream role,” Momoa said. “I love you @corinhardy and @sonypictures unfortunately I may have to wait 8 more. Not our team. But I swear I will. James O’Barr sorry to let you down I won’t on the next. This film needs to be set free. And to the fans. Sorry. I can’t play anything but what this film deserves and it needs love. I’m ready when it’s right.”

Deadline went into a bit more detail on the sudden derailing of the project so close to production.

Sony Pictures announced last September that it had picked up the film for worldwide distribution, and announced an October 11, 2019 release date. Insiders said that deal hasn’t closed. My sources said Hadida’s inability to close a deal with Sony left the studio in exit mode, and that directly precipitated the exits of the filmmaker and star.

The movie was slated for release in October 2019. Sadly, it looks like that won’t be the case now. Read more at the end of the link above. More as it comes in.
