Todd Phillips’ ‘Joker’ Movie May Shoot In September

Shooting on the Todd Phillips-directed movie The Joker is rumoured to be kicking off this September. Joaquin Phoenix is rumoured to be lead the cast of the Warner Bros. set film as the titular character and will be a stand-alone feature set outside of the current DC Extended Universe.

Omega Underground has heard that the film could go before the cameras before the year is out – specifically in September in New York City. Of course, nothing is official but the outlet does say that they may expect an announcement to be made at the San Diego Comic Con, the gathering of film and pop culture nuts from around the world, which is set for the southern Californian city mid-July.

Phillips, the man responsible for The Hangover trilogy, Old School and the more recent War Dogs, will helm the feature which is also co-scripted with Scott Silver. The film is said to be an origin story and even has Martin Scorsese on board as a co-producer. More news as it is fired our way.
