19 Blockbuster Film Locations in the UK

Trying to decide what to do this summer? Why not visit the spectacular parts of Britain that were used for big blockbuster movies? Visiting these locations can be a fantastic way to explore different areas of the UK and uncover the movie magic first hand.

Created by Sandy Balls Holiday Park in the New Forest, the interactive map showcases 19 must visit film locations in the UK. Found on the big screen, this summer discover these locations for yourself and feel like part of the team.  

Scotland and Scottish Isles

Scotland is home to many of the nation’s favourite films and the surrounding islands have been used for inspiration by many artists. The dramatic landscapes are some of the most beautiful in the whole of the British Isles, and have been used in:

  • Trainspotting, 1996: Princes Street, Edinburgh, Scotland
  • Harry Potter 2001 – 2011: Glenfinnan Viaduct, Highlands, Scotland
  • Macbeth, 2015: Quiraing, Isle of Skye

North West of England

The Lake District is located in the North West of England and is a famous spot for bringing writers stories to life:

East Midlands

Some of the biggest blockbusters were filmed in the East Midlands and offer a mixture of historical buildings. Imposing architecture is ideal for certain scenes and have been showcased in:

East Anglia and The City of London
