Alec Baldwin is set to star in The Joker over at Warner Bros. The film is the stand-alone currently in prep with Joaquin Phoenix in the title role. The news comes from The Hollywood Reporter who says that Baldwin is in line to play Thomas Wayne, the father of Bruce Wayne/ Batman.
Sources at the trade say that the script paints Thomas Wayne as a cheesy and tanned businessman who is more in the mould of a 1980s Donald Trump.
Joining Phoenix and Baldwin in the film are Deadpool 2‘s Zazie Beetz, GLOW’s Marc Maron and screen legend, Robert De Niro.
