In 2018 Cannabis was legalized in California and dispensaries have been popping up on Los Angeles like there’s no tomorrow. The use of Cannabis in Hollywood and the film making community has become mainstream over the last few years with society having a much larger acceptance of the plant after years of research and now legality
Still not everyone wants to get high so what’s a comparable alternative? CBD oil’s popularity has exploded with dispensaries all over Hollywood selling this hot new compound. CBD is one of several compounds, known as cannabinoids, in the marijuana plant. Over recent years scientists have been looking at the many potential therapeutic uses of the compound. CBD in oil form is an extract that contains concentrations of CBD. The uses and concentration of different CBD oils differentiates greatly but what’s important is the affect it’s having on people and how it affects them.
CBD oil is like having the benefits of marijuana without getting high. It’s legal and safe.
Choosing where to buy CBD from can be an overwhelming task. There are several dispensaries with local brands all over Hollywood or you can buy them from larger more established brands online. CBD Nerds is a resource to find reviews, guides, and frequently asked questions regarding the trending compound.
If you do decide to give CBD a shot I would recommend going with a brand that’s known for both quality and taste. Most CBD oils taste bitter, earthy, and unpleasant. Brands like Thoughtcloud for example infuse their CBD with coconut oil to help enhance taste.
So what are the benefits of CBD?
1. Pain relief
CBD is most known for it’s ability to lower pain and inflammation. It’s considered that CBD interacts with receptors in the brain to lower inflammation and help reduce pain. Studies show it’s been able to reduce inflammation in rats and mice. In addition studies have shown that CBD doesn’t have any major side effects for humans. Many brands sell quality CBD oil for pain relief.
2. Seizures
Seizures affect thousands and thousands of Americans. Recent studies have raised awareness of CBD’s ability to mitigate or control seizures, but it’s only recently that science has been able to confirm this link. Those involved in research receiving CBD have reduced seizures by a median of 38.9 percent.
3. Combat Anxiety
CBD has not yet been approved by the FDA but many users claim the most obvious relief realized is with anxiety. CBD reduces subjective anxiety, leading investigators to conclude that “These results suggest that CBD reduces anxiety in [social anxiety disorder] and that this is related to its effects on activity in limbic and paralimbic brain areas.” There are many great brands that carry CBD oil for anxiety relief.
4. Fight Cancer
Research also shows that CBD can be a huge benefit in helping lower cancer. CBD as well as the THC found in marijuana have an antitumor effect and can speed up the destruction of tumor cells in colon cancer and even leukemia. In addition, investigations have shown that CBD can be used to remove the spreading in cervical cancer cells. Keep in mind these studies are not FDA approved and are still pre-clinical.
5. Sleep
CBD is also great at helping regulate sleep patterns. It’s considered a great alternative to pharmacy drugs. Taking it in the morning doesn’t mean you’ll be tired but it does have calming effects which can help you fall asleep when laying in bed.
