There’s nothing I love more than a boxing drama, and here’s a new one with a very different spin starring Mickey Rourke. Tiger is a film I hadn’t heard of prior to viewing this new promo this morning, but it looks very interesting indeed.
Here’s the official synopsis:
A practicing Sikh boxer (Prem Singh) is banned by the commission for refusing to back down from his beliefs. Through racial profiling and stereotypical threats, he does what any strong American would do, fight back. As a consequence, his legacy is forever tied to his two biggest battles: one in the courtroom, the other in the ring.
Michael Pugliese and Prem Singh have written the script for the film, while Australian filmmaker Alister Grierson directs.
Release-wise, this is set for the North American markets in select cinemas and on-demand from November. There is currently no UK release that we can see, but we’ll keep you posted. Here’s that trailer.
