Trailer: ‘The Price Of Everything’ Takes Us Into The Art World

Dogwoof has released the new trailer for their upcoming release The Price Of Everything, a new documentary feature from two-time Oscar-nominated director Nathaniel Kahn (My Architect). The film opens to UK audiences on 16 November.

Premiering in Sundance earlier this year, the film is a deep-dive into the rarefied contemporary art world; a tantalising look at what it takes to be a top-selling contemporary artist. Going behind the scenes with the movers and influencers of the opaque art market, The Price of Everything gets inside the galleries, and auction houses and features collectors and artists including Jeff Koons, Larry Poons, Njideka Akunyili Crosby and Gerhard Richter.

In a world where everything can be bought and sold, The Price of Everything is a stunning exposé of the role of art in today’s consumerist society. Featuring world-renowned, top-selling artists Jeff Koons and Gerhard Richter, the film explores and teases out the complex dynamics of how works of art are valued, inflated and collected.

Exploring the labyrinth of the contemporary art world, The Price of Everything examines the role of art and artistic passion in today’s money-driven, consumer-based society. Featuring collectors, dealers, auctioneers and a rich range of artists, from current market darlings Jeff Koons, Gerhard Richter and Njideka Akunyili Crosby, to one-time art star Larry Poons, the film exposes deep contradictions as it holds a mirror up to contemporary values and times, coaxing out the dynamics at play in pricing the priceless.
