Paramount Pictures has released the very first poster and a behind-the-scenes featurette or the upcoming Elton John biopic Rocketman. The film is brought to the screen by none other than Dexter Fletcher, the British director of Eddie The Eagle and Wild Bill. Rocketman stars Taron Egerton as the iconic singer/ songwriter, with a supporting cast made up of the likes of Jamie Bell, Richard Madden and Bryce Dallas Howard.

The stunning new poster, which you can see below, was photographed by the legendary David Lachappelle, the man who created some of the most iconic imagery in Elton John’s career. He is also the man behind the brilliant Elton music video, This Train Don’t Stop There Anymore.
Rocketman will release this May, and I expect big things from this, certainly coming off the huge success of Queen movie Bohemian Rhapsody and what looks like to be a career-defining performance from Egerton (who does all of his own singing in the movie).
Here’s the official synopsis:
This inspirational story – set to Elton John’s most beloved songs and performed by star Taron Egerton – tells the universally relatable story of how a small-town boy became one of the most iconic figures in pop culture. ROCKETMAN also stars Jamie Bell as Elton’s longtime lyricist and writing partner Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as Elton’s first manager, John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton’s mother Sheila Farebrother.
Rocketman will open in cinemas on 24th May 2019. Watch the new featurette featuring Egerton behind the mic, and check out the stunning new poster below.
