The Jury Of The 72nd Festival de Cannes Has Been Revealed

The full jury for this year’s Cannes Film Festival has been announced. The festival, held every year in the south of France, will take place in 2019 between 14th and 25th May with this year’s jury being headed up by Mexican director, producer and screenwriter Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu (which was previously announced.

Joining him on the Croisette this year are:

(Director & screenwriter / Poland)

The selection is an equal split of four women and four men, from four continents and from seven different nationalities. The festival’s Pierre Lescure and Thierry Frémaux said in a statement: “The Cannes’ Jury is invited to see films directed by the greatest filmmakers of our time – which is the case again this year. Everyone of the directors being part of the competition also has to know they will be considered by strong artists – which is also the case!”

The full line-up for the official competition was announced a little over a week ago. Jim Jarmusch’s The Dead Don’t Die opens the 2019 festival on the evening of 14th May.
