Universal Pictures has just debuted a bunch of character poster and the trailer for Jim Jarmusch’s Cannes-opener The Dead Don’t Die, which comes to screens in July following a world premiere as the opening film at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Amongst the cast of the film are: Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Chloë Sevigny, Tilda Swinton, Iggy Pop, Steve Buscemi, Tom Waits, Selena Gomez, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, and Carol Kane. Wow.
Here’s the official synopsis:
In the sleepy small town of Centerville, something is not quite right. The moon hangs large and low in the sky, the hours of daylight are becoming unpredictable, and animals are beginning to exhibit unusual behaviours. No one quite knows why. News reports are scary and scientists are concerned. But no one foresees the strangest and most dangerous repercussion that will soon start plaguing Centerville: The Dead Don’t Die — they rise from their graves and savagely attack and feast on the living, and the citizens of the town must battle for their survival.
As stated above, The Dead Don’t Die opens Cannes on the 14th – that’s next Tuesday night – with a lot of the cast and Jarmusch himself in attendance. The film will then hit cinemas on 12th July. Check out the character posters for the film below, along with that wicked trailer.
