Judging by the amount of box office records that have been broken, there’s a strong chance that you have already seen Avengers: Endgame, the 22nd chapter in the MCU that acts as a culmination of all that has come before it. The real question is; did you see it in IMAX?
Marvel Studios
Whether you’re going to see it for the first or 3000th time, an IMAX experience for a movie event like Endgame is not one that should be missed. Both Endgame and Infinity War before it hold the honour of being the first films ever shot entirely with IMAX cameras, which makes catching it in the format a cinematic must.
Offering 26% more frame (that’s right, there’s technically 26% of Endgame that you’re yet to see), the spectacle of Endgame is at another level. The block-busting action feels more alive, more pumped and more enthralling when it is displayed on the full canvas for which it was designed. It allows for your favourite moments (particular the exhilarating finale) to feel more viscerally thrilling, with the comic-book action splashing onto the screen in all its glory.
While 3-D in general can often be hard to recommend, IMAX 3D is a different beast altogether. IMAX offers a brighter and clearer form of projection, helping to ensure that nothing is lost in the image through its conversion to 3D, offering an immersive experience that is heads and shoulders above the norm.
Marvel Studios make big movies. They are committed to making the sort of films that demand to be seen in cinemas, with large crowds and an even larger screen. Seeing Avengers: Endgame in its intended form as part of an IMAX experience feels like an event, the type of movie-going event that feels a little rare these days. So, assemble your team and make sure to catch Endgame as it was intended to be seen in all its ‘marvelously’ immersive glory.
