Bulldog Film Distribution has released a new poster and trailer for the upcoming Ladyworld, which hits cinemas in a few weeks.
Synopsis: A birthday party quickly dissolves into chaos when a mysterious natural disaster traps eight teenage girls alone in a house, where paranoia and group manipulation test their friendships, identities and eventually their grip on reality.
Amongst the cast are Ariela Barer as Olivia, Annalise Basso as Piper, Ryan Simpkins as Dolly, Odessa Adlon as Blake, Maya Hawke as Romy, Tatsumi Romano as Amanda, Zora Casabere as Mallory, and Atheena Frizzell as Eden.
The film’s director and co-writer Amanda Kramer said the following in a statement released with the new trailer:
“I’m not a naturalist and have no desire to portray reality. In television and film there’s a lot of emphasis placed on “storytelling” but for my writing “plot” is merely a vehicle to get one thinking about concepts.
Clearly the girls could escape if they wanted to…What keeps any of them from breaking the windows and crawling through the dirt? There’s a stability and comfort in the manipulation of our friends and acquaintances – now more than ever, people operating out of fear to stay liked and accepted.”
The movie will land in select cinemas and on-demand from 18th October. Here’s the new trailer.
