Paramount/YouTube

Paramount Pictures has released a brief, one-minute long featurette for their upcoming release Gemini Man, the new Will SMith-starring, Ang Lee directed action movie which arrives in cinemas early next month.

The video describes the new technology used in bringing the movie to screens. Gemini Man employs the use of 3D technology known as 3D+, a new format that boasts 120 frames per second with 35 times the amount of data than a normal 24-frame-per-second would have.

Gemini Man is an innovative action-thriller starring Will Smith as Henry Brogan, an elite assassin, who is suddenly targeted and pursued by a mysterious young operative that seemingly can predict his every move. The film is directed by Ang Lee and produced by renown producers Jerry Bruckheimer, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger. Also starring are Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen, and Benedict Wong.

Ang Lee and Ben Gervais (technical supervisor) discuss 3D+ and what it means for the Gemini Man cinematic experience. The film opens on 10th October.
