The film industry is continuing to flourish with endless classic movies being released. 2019 has been no different and it is also a similar story when it comes to the horror genre. So what have been the top horror movies of this year that have given the best thrills and chills and left a lasting impression.

This American horror film was written and directed by Jordan Peele and starred the likes of Lupita Nyong’o , Winston Duke and Shahadi Wright Joseph. This movie covers a family arriving at their summer home only to be attacked by a group of doppelgangers. This movie was a huge success, grossing over $255.1 million from a budget of just $20 million. It was also well supported in the betting to do so by punters using the bethard bonus code that was on offer to support the film for success in the grossing markets.

It: Chapter Two
This American supernatural horror film is the sequel to the 2018 film It. They are of course based around the 1986 novel by Stephen King. The movie was directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman. The movie is set 27 years on from the previous and the story follows the remaining members reuniting to defeat the eponymous being who has returned to the town of Derry, Maine. This has been a great success and has already grossed over $417 million worldwide since its release.

Annabelle Comes Home
This American supernatural horror film is another to have been directed by Gary Dauberman. It is the sequel to the 2014 movie Annabelle and 2017’s Annabelle: Creation. This is also the seventh instalment in the Conjuring Universe franchise. The film stars the likes of Mckenna Grace, Madison Iseman and Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga also returning. The plot covers the Annabelle doll being locked in a sacred glass case in an artefacts room that is then blessed by father Gordon to ensure the evil is contained. The case is later left open and Annabelle then begins to release other spirits such as the Ferryman, Bride and the Black Shuck. This movie has also already had a lot of success grossing over $227.7 million worldwide.
