2019 has been a remarkable year for film, with a large number of anticipated releases going on to be a great success. One of these, of course, is The Lion King remake, which was several years in the making. Many star names were involved as voiceovers, and these actor reviews undertaken by Bingo Find included a number of them. So which five movies topped the list?
5) Spider-Man: Far From Home- $390,361,240
In at number five is Sony Pictures action movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home. The movie was released at the start of July and has been the distributor’s most successful so far this year. It is based on the Marvel comics character Spider-Man and is the sequel to the 2017 movie Spider-Man: Homecoming. It is also the 23rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie has been directed by Jon Watts and stars Tom Holland playing the key role of Peter Parker. Others starring in the film include Samuel L. Jackson, Zendaya, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jon Favreau.

4) Captain Marvel- $426,829,839
Number four is Walt Disney’s Captain Marvel. This was released in the early stages of the year and has been a great success. This is another film based on the Marvel comics, with this around the character Carol Danvers. It is the 21st film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, this movie also stars the likes of Brie Larson playing the lead as Danvers. Others include Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn and Annette Bening to name just a few.

3) Toy Story 4 – $433,333,060
Another movie distributed by Walt Disney is Toy Story 4. This computer animated comedy film was produced by Pixar Animation Studios and is the fourth instalment in Pixar’s Toy Story series. This movie is the sequel to 2010’s Toy Story 3 and had been long in the waiting with anticipation continued to build ahead of its release earlier this year. Directed by Josh Cooley, the film stars voices such as Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Annie Potts and Keegan-Michael Key.

2) The Lion King – $541,353,843
Directed and produced by Jon Favreau, this was one of the most anticipated remakes for some time. Written by Jeff Nathanson, it covers the remake to the 1994 classic of the same name. This movie was several years in the making and followed on from the remake of The Jungle Book in 2016, which was also directed by Favreau. The movie has been a great success and stars a number of voices such as Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. The Lion King also surpassed Frozen as the highest grossing animated movie of all time.

1) Avengers: Endgame- $858,373,000
In at number one and now the highest grossing movie of all time is the Avengers: Endgame. This is another movie to have been distributed by Walt Disney and is another based around a Marvel comic, this being superhero team the Avengers. It is the sequel to 2012’s The Avengers, 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. This is the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It features a cast that includes Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson.
