The Folio Society Unveils its 2nd Marvel Collaboration

From The Folio Society Marvel: The Silver Age 1960-1970 (c) 2020 Marvel

Hot off the heels of its incredible Golden Age Collection, The Folio Society and Marvel have deepened their partnership with their latest stunning edition of Marvel: The Silver Age 1960-1970).

That means that this collection will be bringing together some of Marvel’s most iconic stories, as this is the period that saw the introduction of Spider-Man, The Hulk, the X-Men, The Avengers, Black Panther, Iron Man, Thor and many more of the now most famous superheroes in the world, all forged in the revolutionary spirit of Sixties America.

Similarly to the last collaboration, this collection will contain 14 key stories, selected and introduced by Marvel editor-in-chief Roy Thomas, bound in a beautiful and massive clothed volume, designed by celebrated typographer Ian Jepson, with the pages inside bursting with colour, giving new life into these iconic tales of astonishment. It is all once again housed in a gorgeous presentation box adorned with fantastic artwork from Paolo Rivera, one of Marvel’s most celebrated artists. Inside, you will also find an exclusive print, as well as a lovingly recreated facsimile of Fantastic Four #1.

Roy Thomas writes:  ‘To sample what thousands of readers – myself most definitely included – encountered that day around the turn of August 1961 when Fantastic Four #1 went on sale, see the full-colour replica edition reprinted alongside the volume you now hold in your thrice-blessed hands.’

As with the previous collection, this will be a hard treasure trove to resist for the most dedicated of comic book fans. You can check out more about the new edition by visiting The Folio Society website now. Excelsior!
