The Marvel films have been released for over ten years now, and each one has built a new piece of the world. Many thought they would reach the top of their game with the release of Endgame, but they have a whole host of films planned beyond it. Let’s take a closer look at what is coming next in the MCU.
Black Widow
As reported on Celeb Network and various other outlets, the release of Black Widow’s solo has been pushed back due to the 2020 pandemic, as has the release of many films not in the MCU. Nevertheless, the trailers make this seem to be a film that can’t be missed.
Scarlett Johansson takes the lead again as Black Widow, and is joined by an all-star cast of Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, David Harbour, and Robert Downey Jr in what is rumoured to be his last outing as Tony Stark. As they take on the mysterious Taskmaster, this film will no doubt help to set the bar for the Post-Endgame MCU.
The Eternals
With so many major characters at play in the MCU, it can be surprising to know that the team is ready to introduce even more. The Eternals is the next major ensemble film and will be released in 2021 thanks to a push back due to the pandemic.
This film will see a mysterious race called the Eternals come together for the first time in thousands of years to protect humanity from their enemies, the Deviants. This film will feature an ensemble cast that includes Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, and Game of Thrones stars Richard Madden and Kit Harrington among others.
Thor: Love and Thunder
While several films are due to come out before the fourth instalment in the Thor series, there are few that are as hotly anticipated. Taika Waititi is returning to direct the new film. He was the driving force behind the third film, Thor: Ragnarok, that was beloved by fans and critics alike.
This film will see Thor reunite with old friends in the forms of Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie and the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ as they face off against an as of now undisclosed villain who will be played by Christian Bale. This will also be the first film in which we reportedly see Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, become the next Thor.
These are just three of the titles that Marvel is preparing for us in the future. It is clear that they are gearing up to make Phase 4 the best one yet. As the original Avengers cast prepares to move forward to new projects, the new hands taking up the torch are prepared to give their all as they push to see this incredible legacy of films do well. With them at the helm, there can be no doubt that the Marvel films will go from success to success. Keep an eye out for news of Black Widow and the many other projects coming forward.
