After briefly landing online before being pulled earlier in the year, the official trailer for Greenland starring Gerard Butler has arrived for your viewing pleasure. The film has a release date set for this August, which is hopefully when those cinemas are back open. Alongside Butler are the likes of Morena Baccarin, Scott Glenn, Andrew Bachelor and David Denman.
The film reunites Butler with his Angel Has Fallen director Ric Roman Waugh.
Here’s the official synopsis for the film:
John Garrity (Gerard Butler), his estranged wife Allison (Morena Baccarin), and young son Nathan make a perilous journey to their only hope for sanctuary. Amid terrifying news accounts of cities around the world being levelled by the comet’s fragments, the Garritys experience the best and worst in humanity while they battle the increasing panic and lawlessness surrounding them. As the countdown to global apocalypse approaches zero, their incredible trek culminates in a desperate and last-minute flight to a possible safe haven.
