6 of the best titles coming to Netflix in July

July is another big month on the streaming platforms and we’ve just got sight of the big movies coming to Netflix this month. There are some classic movies as well as some brand new features and we’ve selected six of the best to add to your lists right now.

All of the Jurassic Park/ Jurassic World movies

That’s right, all of the Jurassic Park/ Jurassic World movies are coming to Netflix in the month of July (UK) from the original 1993 game-changer Jurassic Park, to the most recent film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. There is currently another film in production (though currently halted due to the coronavirus outbreak) – Jurassic World: Dominion, so this is the perfect time to go back and see all of the movies that led up to the events of the new one, a film which will see dinosaurs living on the mainland all across the world! The five existing films are available from 1st July.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout

If action movies are your thing, then how about arguably the best movie in the Mission: Impossible series, Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt for another adventure, one that picks up after the events of ‘Rogue Nation.’ Also along for the ride are franchise regulars Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Rebecca Ferguson, along with the likes of Henry Cavill, who makes his debut in the series. Come for the fantastic stunts, including that nail-biting plane scene at the start of the movie, and stay for the frenetic, relentless action, including Cruise running around the streets and rooftops (where he famously broke his ankle during filming once breathtaking scene) of contemporary London. The film debuts on the UK service from 3rd July.

Cursed

Not a word that would spring to mind if you were to register with bookie-promocodes to try your luck, but the title of this new series is actually based on the Arthurian legend and its ten-part first season comes to Netflix wherever it is available on 17th July. The series revolves around Nimue, a young woman with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a humble mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Heard some great things about this one, and it’s already on my list as a must watch this month.

The Old Guard

Here’s a new Netflix original film based upon the comic book of the same name created by writer Greg Rucka and artist Leandro Fernandez. Charlize Theron leads the cast as an immortal mercenary who, along with her peers, has the ability to heal herself if wounded. Everything goes a bit south when someone discovers their big secret, and the group must stop at nothing to protect their freedom. I know little about the movie, but the screenplay is written by Rucka and the film is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood whose past credits include Love and Basketball and The Secret Life Of Bees. Expect big things from the film which lands on Netflix worldwide from 10th July.

Unsolved Mysteries – season 15

If TV series are more your thing, then how about this resurrected title which is now on its 15th season. Unsolved Mysteries doesn’t tell you how to play online with lotteriespromocodes and win big, but it does focus on cold cases and paranormal phenomena and, like the title suggests, tries to solve them. There are over 500 existing episodes of Unsolved Mysteries and Netflix has brought the latest season to screens, a reboot of the series which is already getting some pretty good reviews from the critics who have seen it. The 15th run comes to Netflix from 1st July.

BlackKklansman

After premiering at the 2018 Cannes film festival to rave reviews, Spike Lee’s BlackKklansman went on to win the filmmaker his first Oscar in the following February. Starring John David Washington, who will next be seen in Christopher Nolan’s latest Tenet, the film tells the story of Ron Stallworth, an African American police officer who, in Colorado Springs in the 1970s manages to infiltrate his local Ku Klux Klan branch with the help of Adam Driver’s Flip Zimmerman, a Jewish surrogate who becomes its leader. Told with precision and alarming relevance to today, the film is one of Spike Lee’s best and comes to Netflix UK at the end of the month on the 24th July. A perfect accompaniment to his recently released Netflix original, Da 5 Bloods, which is now playing.
