Airdate announced for horror drama series ‘Lovecraft Country’

Look out for this one from 17th August.

Sky Television has announced that it will air Lovecraft Country on their Sky Atlantic channel staring 17th August. The new horror drama stars Jonathan Majors, Jurnee Smollett, Wunmi Mosaku, Michael Kenneth Williams and Courtney B. Vance and is comes from HBO and Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw production house.

The ten part series is based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff and follows Atticus Freeman as he joins his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father. What follows is a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from an H.P. Lovecraft paperback.

Lovecraft Country is created by executive producers Jordan Peele (Get Out) and J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker). The showrunner is Misha Green (Underground), and directors are Daniel Sackheim (Game of Thrones and True Detective), Ben Stephenson and Bill Carraro.
