I’m a big fan of some of David Ayer’s movies; Fury, End Of Watch and even Suicide Squad to a degree are up there. His next one is called The Tax Collector and it starts to roll out into cinemas and VOD next month and the film reunites him with Shia LaBeouf who stars alongside Bobby Soto, Cinthya Carmona, and George Lopez.
The film revolves around two enforcers for a crime lord who face an uncertain future when an old rival reappears.
David (Bobby Soto) and Creeper (Shia LaBeouf), are “tax collectors” for the crime lord Wizard, collecting his cut from the profits of local gangs’ illicit dealings. But when Wizard’s old rival returns to Los Angeles from Mexico, the business is upended, and David finds himself desperate to protect what matters more to him than anything else: his family.
The film will be released in North American cinemas and on VOD from 7th August where it will be distributed by RLJE Films with other territories to follow.
