We’ve just received word that feature animation Away is going to receive an August release date across the UK and Ireland. The film received the highly-regarded Contrechamp Award last year at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and will land in cinemas from 28th August.
The stunning, dialogue-free fantasy adventure tells the story of a boy travelling across an island on a motorcycle, trying to escape a dark spirit and get back home. Along the way he makes a series of connections with di?erent animals and re?ects on the possible ways he ended up on the island. Part dream, part reality, Away explores our common, universal need to ?nd a connection.
Away is the full-length feature debut for Gints Zilbalodis and his Dream Well studio. I’m really keen to see this. We hope to bring you a full review as soon as we’ve seen it. For now, you can watch the brand new trailer below.
