I had a feeling that we’d see some footage from the in-production The Batman but I wasn’t expecting a full trailer. But that is exactly what we do have despite the movie still shooting and reportedly only 25% of filming complete. This looks fantastic and seems to hark back to the kind of feel that the Christopher Nolan ‘Dark Knight’ movies had – that gritty realism which was also on display in last year’s Joker – a stand alone movie in the DC universe. This almost has a Seven-esque feel to it and, oh boy, what do we think of Michael Giacchino’s score? I’m so exciting for this come October 2021 when it will finally hit cinemas.
Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin wrote the screenplay with Reeves directing the film. Robert Pattinson stars as Bruce Wayne / Batman, with Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell rounding out the brilliant ensemble cast. Shooting is expected to resume on the movie in September.
