With coronavirus taking its hold on the world right now, many of us have looked at our lives at home for entertainment as more and more time is being spent withinour safe four walls.
We aren’t able to venture to cinemas, so we play movies on Netflix, Amazon or other streaming services, we can’t got to the casino, so we resort to casino online gambling; books stores have been closed so we look at downloading on to a Kindle, for example. In this article, we are going to look at five of the best movies to watch on your streaming platforms this September.
Puzzle
Here’s a movie that originally appeared at the Sundance Film Festival back in 2018. Puzzle is a remake of the 2010 Argentinian film of the same name and stars Kelly MacDonald (Trainspotting) as a housewife who becomes interested in jigsaw puzzles.
She befriends a champion puzzler Robert (the late, great Irrfan Khan) after visiting New York and herself enters a huge puzzle championship after growing constantly tired of her boring, monotonous life back at home with husband Louis and her two sons.
Marc Turtletaub directs the film following his first film Gods Behaving Badly which was released five years earlier in 2013. Fellow filmmaker Oren Moverman co-wrote the movie with Polly Mann and it is well worth your time.
Project Power
A Netflix release, Project Power features a dynamite cast that includes Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon Levitt. The film revolves around small pills which, when taken, gift the user with five minutes of a special power – whether it be being able to become bulletproof, or burst into flames to – we’re guessing that it can’t be used to have a go at a slot machine en ligne and win a big prize to get rich quick, though.
We had a lot of fun with movie and loved the action set pieces, good story and superb concept. A massive release for Netflix, the film has become so popular that it remains in the top ten movies on the streamer weeks after release.
Project Power is now streaming on Netflix.
The Peanut Butter Falcon
Also available on Netflix, The Peanut Butter Falcon is one of our favourite films of 2018. After doing the rounds at various film festivals all over the world, The Peanut Butler Falcon was finally released into cinemas in the latter half of the year and has just made its streaming debut on the stream.
Starring Shia LaBeouf and a scene-stealing Zachary Gottsagen as a man with Down syndrome who runs away to pursue his wrestling dreams. He makes friends with LaBeouf’s character, a wayward fisherman who is on the run.
The supporting cast is also excellent with Dakota Johnson, John Hawkes, Bruce Dern, Jon Bernthal and Thomas Haden Church all popping up throughout this feel-good movie.
