Trailer for feature documentary ‘The Truffle Hunters’

The documentary has screenings coming up at TIFF, Zurich and New York film festivals.

Here’s the trailer for a new feature doc named The Truffle Hunters from Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw which is set for a screening at this year’s TIFF following a world premiere at Sundance earlier this year. The film follows three elderly specialists, and their dogs, as they seek the prized delicacy and contend with poachers in the woods of Northern Italy. This looks really good.

Here’s a little more info on the movie: THE TRUFFLE HUNTERS follows a handful of men, seventy to eighty years young, in Piedmont, Italy, on the search for the elusive Alba truffle. They’re guided by a secret culture passed down through generations, as well as by the noses of their cherished and expertly trained dogs. The documentary subtly explores the devastating effects of climate change and deforestation on an age-old tradition through a visually stunning narrative that celebrates life and exalts the human spirit.

The film will also play at the Zurich and New York film festivals over the coming weeks. It has a release date set for some territories, including North America (from where this trailer originates) for Christmas Day. The official website is here. Check out the trailer below.
