Minari is written by Lee Isaac Chung and stars Steven Yeun, Yeri Han, Alan Kim, Noel Kate Cho, and Yuh-Jung Youn. The new trailer for the film has just been released by A24 and this looks really good. Minari premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier in the year and won both the U.S. Dramatic Grand Jury Prize as well as the U.S. Dramatic Audience Award.
The film’s Wikipedia entry says that ‘Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother.’
Official synopsis: A tender and sweeping story about what roots us, Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, Minari shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.
Looking forward to this one.
It looks like Minari will start to roll out into cinemas in some territories from November. Watch the trailer below.
