Trailer: ‘The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee’ sees the return of Paul Hogan

Coming to screens in December.

He’s back – whether he likes it or not! So, here’s a film that unites the likes of Paul Hogan, ‘Crocodile Dundee’ himself, and also comedy legends Chevy Chase and John Cleese. The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee is a forthcoming film that sees Hogan reluctantly thrust back into the spotlight as he desperately attempts to restore his sullied reputation on the eve of being knighted – by the Queen of England. Hogan plays a version of himself, lining up with Chase, Cleese, Olivia Newton-John and Jacob Elordi as his son.

Here’s a little more about the movie.

Retired in L.A. and overshadowed by his Crocodile Dundee character, Hogan is offered a knighthood by the Queen of England. But before he can accept it, Hogan gets caught up in a series of comical scandals that dominate gossip shows and social media feeds. Can he keep his reputation clean long enough to hang onto his prize — and his dignity? Hilarious celebrity co-stars include Chevy Chase, John Cleese, Olivia Newton-John, and more!

Let’s not forget how huge Crocodile Dundee was back in the 1980s. The film was made for a little north of $8 million and grossed around $328 million, making it one of the most profitable films of all time. This new film looks absolutely bonkers – perhaps brilliantly so, and it is good to see Hogan back on the screen.

The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee will start to roll out on digital through Lionsgate in the US on 11th December. Other territories will follow. Here’s the trailer.
