Here’s the latest trailer for an upcoming film titled Synchronic, the new feature from visionary filmmakers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. The film did the rounds on the festival circuit getting extremely positive buzz, and it will finally bow before audiences in January.
Here’s the synopsis.
From breakout genre filmmakers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (The Endless) SYNCHRONIC is a mind-bending, haunting sci-fi starring two of Hollywood’s most popular actors Jamie Dornan (The Fall, Fifty Shades of Grey franchise) and Anthony Mackie (The Avengers franchise, Detroit) as two New Orleans paramedics who encounter a series of horrific deaths linked to a designer drug.
I caught this at TIFF 2019 and loved it – it’s so different and one of the hot tickets in the first part of 2021, despite some minor flaws – at least in the version I saw over a year ago. I said that Synchonic is like Limitless meets Back To The Future via Quantum Leap and Bringing Out The Dead, a film with a mesh of many ideas. An interesting feature, but one that doesn’t really fully realise its huge ambition – though I defy you not to have a good time. You can read the full review here.
Synchronic will release in cinemas and on digital from 29th January.
