Here’s a look at a new film coming to screens this year, Jumbo, which has a central plot about a girl who falls in love with a theme park ride. The new drama is written and directed by Zoé Wittock, her debut feature, and premiered at last year’s Sundance Film festival. It starts to roll-out on demand from February.
Jeanne (Noémie Merlant, Portrait of a Lady on Fire), a shy young woman, works in an amusement park. She still lives at home with her mother and is fascinated with lights and carousels. When Jeanne meets Jumbo, the park’s new flagship attraction, a thrilling and unique romance ensues.
Jumbo has already had a release in Belgium on last March, and was released in France on 1 July 2020. U.S. audiences will get the movie on demand from 19th February with other territories sure to follow.
