New look trailer for upcoming feature documentary ‘Pelé’

Coming to Netflix later this month.

Netflix has unveiled the new trailer for the upcoming football documentary Pelé which comes to the streamer later this month. The feature follows the legend from a young superstar in 1958 to a national hero, amidst a radical and turbulent era in Brazilian history. The film is directed by David Tryhorn and Ben Nicholas and will land on Netflix on 23rd February.

The documentary feature tells the story of iconic footballer Pelé, his quest for perfection and the mythical status he attained. As well as unprecedented interview access to Pelé, the film includes astounding archive footage and interviews with legendary former team-mates including Zagallo, Jairzinho and Rivellino. The story looks back at the extraordinary 12-year period in which Pelé, the only man to win three World Cup titles, went from young superstar in 1958 to national hero in 1970; a radical yet turbulent era in Brazil’s history.

As the synopsis says above, the film features interviews with the man himself, as well as his former team-mates at the Santos Futebol Clube and the Brazilian national team, including Zagallo, Amarildo and Jairzinho, as well as extraordinary testimonials from family members, journalists, artists and other personalities who witnessed the golden age of Brazilian football.
