Having had such a successful year last year due to the global pandemic caused by Covid-19 with many using Netflix as their sole form of entertainment whilst stuck at home. Due to this, they’ve been able to re-invest these funds back into their already great library of films and TV series. Due to this, we thought we’d created a list of what we are watching right now on Netflix and why they are our favourites.
First of all is the latest series that’s just been released on Netflix this January which is called Lupin which kept us gripped from start to finish due to its gripping story line. This series follows Omar Sy who plays Assane Diop who is affected by the suicide of his father after he couldn’t deal with the guilt of a crime that he didn’t commit. Due to this, Diop seeks revenge 20 years later as he attempted to create the ultimate heist, the theft of stealing Marie Antoinette’s necklace from The Louvre. Lupin is inspired by the adventures of fictional thief Arsene Lupin and is certainly a clever and entertaining series that is a must watch.
Another form of entertainment that has become popular during the past year have been online casinos which can be found available here. This series is full of wealth and beauty and has become so popular amongst viewers due to the cast, scenery, costumes and innovative soundtrack which is getting a lot of positive plaudits.
And finally, another series that is creating a lot of traction during the start of 2021 has been The Queen’s Gambit which was released last year which is based on the novel written by Walter Tevis and released in 1983. The story follows an orphan, Beth Harmon who is on a quest to become the world’s greatest chess player whilst having many demons including the state of her mental health and drug and alcohol abuse. The Queen’s Gambit quickly became one of the most watched series in 2021.
