Zack Snyder potentially looking to develop new King Arthur movie

Who’s on board?

One of the most difficult stories to bring to the screen seems to be the story of King Arthur and the knights of the round table with many admired filmmakers taking to the legend with varying degrees of success. There’s everything from the likes of First Knight with Richard Gere and Sean Connery from back in 1995 to the more recent Guy Ritchie film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (below) which saw Charlie Hunnam take the title role. There are, of course, dozens of films covering the medieval story dating back through the history of movies, but it looks like one Zack Snyder could be the latest filmmaker to take on the ‘Arthur’ story.

The Guy Ritchie version of King Arthur

Speaking with I Minutemen, the filmmaker, who will drop his version of Justice League next month, spoke about the lack of medieval ‘superhero’ films.

“I’ve been working on something, but we’ll see…” Snyder said.

“I’ve been thinking about some kind of retelling, like a real sort of faithful retelling of that Arthurian mythological concept. We’ll see. Maybe that will come at some point.”

Snyder did a cracking job with 300, so perhaps something with the style and feel that that movie had would go down well. We’ll see. More with Snyder in the main video below.
