The Owners is a fanboy and girls dream as it pits Doctor Who and The Hobbit star Sylvester McCoy against Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams. The film, based on a graphic novel and directed by Julius Berg, sees Williams’ downtrodden Mary coerced into breaking into the affluent home of doctor Richard (played by McCoy) alongside her boyfriend and his criminal friends. A deadly game of cat and mouse ensues during the home invasion and it soon becomes very clear that Richard and his wife aren’t as vulnerable as they first appear to be. It’s certainly a film that subverts expectations and poses some intriguing ideas.

Sylvester McCoy is great as Richard, it’s a very different role for him, but one that he manages to pull off brilliantly. The role requires a balance of mild and menace and will keep fans on the edge of their seats. You can read our full review of the film here.
Ahead of the home entertainment release on 22nd February, we sat down with McCoy (from the social distance of a Zoom call) to find out what drew him to the project, as well as getting his take on who should be the next Who.
Signature Entertainment presents The Owners is on Digital Platforms 22nd February and DVD 1st March.
