Trailer for incoming Netflix film ‘Monster’ which premiered at Sundance in 2018

The film will premiere on Netflix in May.

Check out this very first trailer for the upcoming Monster, a new film coming to the streamer next week led by the remarkable Kelvin Harrison Jr. The feature premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, but was picked up by Netflix late last year. Monster is based on the novel of the same name by American author Walter Dean Myers which was first published in 1999.

Monster tells the story of Steve Harmon (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.) a seventeen-year-old honor student whose world comes crashing down around him when he is charged with felony murder. The film follows his dramatic journey from a smart, likeable film student from Harlem attending an elite high school through a complex legal battle that could leave him spending the rest of his life in prison.

Jennifer Ehle, Tim Blake Nelson, Rakim Meyers, John David Washington, Jennifer Hudson, and Jeffrey Wright are also amongst the cast.

Anthony Mandler, who has previously helmed both music videos and commercials, directs.

Monster will release on Netflix on 7th May. Watcn the brand new trailer below.
