New trailer and poster for Ira Sachs’ ‘Frankie’

The film first premiered at Cannes 2019.

Here’s a film from the festival circuit that I’m keep to see but haven’t been able to yet. Ira Sachs’ Frankie has some great word of mouth and will finally be arriving in cinemas, once they open, at the end of May. Isabelle Huppert plays the title character, alongside Brendan Gleeson, Marisa Tomei and Greg Kinnear. Picturehouse Entertainment will release Frankie on 28th May. We have a new trailer and poster below.

Frankie premiered at the last physical Cannes Film Festival all of the way back in 2019 and has already been released in France and in the U.S. The UK and Ireland will get it next month after a delay supposedly due to the closing of cinemas.

Synopsis: Unfolding over the course of a late summer’s day in the stunningly beautiful Portuguese town of Sintra, the wonderful new film from acclaimed director Ira Sachs follows a family that has gathered for a holiday organised by family matriarch Frankie (Isabelle Huppert). In this fairy tale setting, husbands and wives, parents and children, friends and lovers – all stirred by their romantic impulses – discover both the cracks between them but also unexpected depths of feeling.

Sachs wrote the film with his frequent collaborator Mauricio Zacharias (Little Men, Love is Strange, Trinta).
