Two new clips from the superb, incoming British film ‘The Bike Thief’

Alec Secareanu (Ammonite, God’s Own Country) leads the cast.

Here are a couple of clips from I film I managed to catch as part of the Tokyo International Film Festival late last year, The Bike Thief. The film has a great cast led by Alec Secareanu (AmmoniteGod’s Own Country) who I’m a big fan of. He stars here opposite Anamaria Marinca (4 Months, 3 Weeks And 2 Days) in a great little film directed by Matt Chambers. It’s available on digital platforms from 3rd May, so within just a few days of me posting this.

Here’s a little more about the movie: The Rider is an ordinary, hard-working man. Everything he does is done to protect and support his family. He works as a delivery driver for a local Pizza restaurant, which happens to be owned and run by his landlord. The Rider’s wife, Elena, spends her days cleaning grand houses and caring for their two children. When the Rider’s moped is stolen, his world turns upside down and a race against time starts to recover the source of his livelihood.

I’ve reviewed this one in full on the site, which you can read here. In brief, I really liked it.

An exceptional debut from filmmaker Matt Chambers, and another stand-out performance from Alec Secareanu make The Bike Thief a stand-out, very grounded affair worthy of your attention.
