A sequel to the Netflix film Enola Holmes is reportedly on the way from the streamer and Legendary Entertainment. The news was announced on one of the streamer’s official Twitter accounts late on Thursday. Both Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill will return as Enola Holmes and Sherlock Holmes respectively.

The first film was released onto the Netflix service in September 2020 with it proving a huge hit during the pandemic. News of a sequel will no doubt delight fans across the globe. 76 million households reportedly watched the movie during its first 28 days on the platform, according to the streamer.
Here’s the official synopsis for that first film, which was based on the book by Nancy Springer:
England, 1884 – a world on the brink of change. On the morning of her 16th birthday, Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) wakes to find that her mother (Helena Bonham Carter) has disappeared, leaving behind an odd assortment of gifts but no apparent clue as to where she’s gone or why. After a free-spirited childhood, Enola suddenly finds herself under the care of her brothers Sherlock (Henry Cavill) and Mycroft (Sam Claflin), both set on sending her away to a finishing school for “proper” young ladies.
