Steven Soderbergh has got a new movie coming out this year and the teaser trailer has just dropped for it. No Sudden Move is set to premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The 1950s-set drama has a cracking cast that includes Don Cheadle, Benicio del Toro, David Harbour, Ray Liotta, Jon Hamm, Amy Seimetz, Brendan Fraser, Kieran Culkin, Noah Jupe, Craig muMs Grant, Julia Fox, Frankie Shaw, and Bill Duke.
The story centers on a group of small-time criminals who are hired to steal what they think is a simple document. When their plan goes horribly wrong, their search for who hired them – and for what ultimate purpose – weaves them through all echelons of the race-torn, rapidly changing city.
Ed Solomon wrote the screenplay for this one, which is set for a release in cinemas and on HBO Max stateside. It is scheduled for release there on 1st July following its June 18, 2021 Tribeca premiere. In terms of UK release, we’ll keep you posted.
This is Soderbergh’s first dramatic feature to hits screens since The Laundromat back in 2019, and follows his producing stint on the recent Oscars broadcast earlier this year.
